After 4 years in Indianapolis, he returned to graduate school for his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the Massachusetts General Hospital’s Institute of Health Professions. At the conclusion of his doctoral program he moved to Scottsdale, AZ to study under Todd Ellenbecker, DPT. Dr. Ellenbecker is recognized as one of the top shoulder and elbow physical therapists in the United States. During his 3 years in AZ he also worked with the Center for Athletic Performance and Physical Therapy and helped the Milwaukee Brewers (MLB) during spring training.
Rick returned to New Jersey in 2007 to be closer to family and worked with Somerset Hills Physical Therapy in Basking Ridge for 6 years. He then worked with Atlantic Health System for 2 years in both their sports clinic and at Morristown Medical Center seeing acute post-operative orthopedic patients. He finally realized his dream of starting his own practice in 2015 when he opened the Physical Therapy Center of Excellence. Rick is currently one of only a handful of therapists in the state to be dual certified as a specialist in both orthopedics (OCS) and sports (SCS) by our parent organization the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Other specialties include the Graston Technique, Titleist Performance Institute medical screenings, Functional Movement Systems screenings, and Kinesiotaping.
